Birman babies are born all white. 

After a few days you can see the color starting to appear

 on their nose and the backs of their ears..with some of the

 colors it is very hard to determine what their gloving

and laces will look like, thus it can take a while for a

 breeder to know who will be a show prospect and

who will be someone's beloved pet.
